Job Title: Content Manager, Journals

Salary: $63,100 - $82,075 per annum

Location: New York with hybrid working

Contract: Permanent/Full time

About the role 

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Academic Content Operations department as a Content Manager within Journals Content Management. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of established journals from manuscript acceptance through to final publication, both online and in print. You'll work across a wide range of subject areas and collaborate with academic editors, authors, and internal teams to ensure timely, high-quality publication.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role ideal for someone who is both innovative and organised. You'll be involved in workflow improvement initiatives, support open research practices, and contribute to the continuous development of our publishing processes. Relationship management is key, as you'll be working with high-profile societies and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the end-to-end production of journal content across various publication models.
  • Liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Maintaining data integrity and managing budgets and supplier relationships.
  • Supporting innovation and continuous improvement in workflows and systems.
  • Providing excellent customer service to authors, editors, and society partners.

 

About you 

You will be decisive, collaborative, and responsive, with excellent organisational and communication skills. You'll have experience in project management and a flexible approach to managing priorities and deadlines. A passion for publishing and a keen interest in open access are essential.

You should be confident working independently and as part of a team, with the ability to build strong relationships across global time zones. Experience in publishing or content management is desirable, along with familiarity with systems such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Online Peer Review Systems.
